Place & Memory is a creative professional development project led by Emma Bolland, Judit Bodor and Tom Rodgers with eight Leeds-based artists
The group of artists will identify and collectively research sites within Leeds that hold some kind of emotional resonance for them as individuals or trigger potential creative responses through memories or new experiences. From initial site visits the artists will then develop new work in response to the project’s theme to be exhibited as part of Love Arts Leeds Festival in October 2013.
The artists will be mentored by Emma Bolland, Judit Bodor and Tom Rodgers and will apply the research methodologies and dissemination strategies developed through … MilkyWayYouWillHearMeCall…. They will also participate in 1-2-1 portfolio sessions, group crits and skills workshops to accomplish a range of personal and professional goals set individually alongside the collaboratively produced outcomes.
The culmination of the project will coincide with the Love Arts Leeds Festival and will involve a group exhibition of the artists’ work at Holy Trinity Church, a creative artist’s documentary film to be screened at White Cloth Gallery and a publication of artworks and documents.
